Larsanova Interview: From Subhuman to Chad
Larsanova shares his looksmaxxing journey - from acne and excess weight to a full transformation and a new outlook on life.
Larsanova first appeared on looksmaxxing forums around 2019-2020, documenting a transformation that covered weight loss, skincare, hair, and a growing self-awareness that surprised even him. Now 23, Lars looks back on the journey – the highs, the psychosis, the ego reset, and what it actually means to “looksmax” when you finally understand yourself.
Interview Date: August 29th, 2025

Personal Background & Origins
DR: Can you start by telling us a little bit about yourself and how you first discovered looksmaxxing?
Lars: Hey I am Lars 🙂 just a 23 year old who was stupid enough to upload his face to so called incel forums (JFL), but was it? 😉 (I smoked btw a good Amnesia Haze, will typing, Ruusstaaag aan :)))
I was from a young age already social aware that your looks are an important factor in how people treat you. My eyebrows are like that homie from Ernie, and with bad teeth – now: strongest points.

Looks set a foot in the door, personality keeps you inside, but “Know thyself” – Socrates said.
DR: It’s been a few years since you shared your original transformation online. How do you look back on that whole journey now?
Lars: It’s nostalgic, good times from the site, the interaction with the people, during covid times – also talking about the comments under the post, because without them the site doesn’t exist <3. Shout out to you all, you got this! And also to looksmaxxing.com – you also got this, we in the same boat so life gets easier in multiple ways 🙂
At that time, it was already to get the best out of myself. For me it is: all or nothing. Kinda stupid in some perspectives but it keeps my perspective about living on the edge. I also LDAR for 2 years, just accepted it, but with a voice in my head: I need to come back.
DR: What originally motivated you to start working on improving your appearance back then?
Lars: By just being myself. You are weird if ugly and goofy if hot, that’s why i want to live my life the fullest. I already did, but life just gets waaay easier 😉
The Transformation
DR: Can you walk us through some of the main things you did – like the weight loss, skincare routine, and other changes you made?
Lars: I joined because i had acne, so Retin-A was first with weightloss at the same time. Later i discovered i had curly hair in my gap year (3A), so i also grew out my hair. The site really helped me to lead to my own path of succes.

DR: Out of everything you tried, what do you think had the biggest impact on how you looked?
Lars: Losing weight 100%. Getting good colouring. Finding yourself.

DR: How did people start treating you differently after your transformation, and how did that make you feel?
Lars: It’s biological, it’s stupid because don’t judge a book by its cover. I would like to have a conversation with everyone – me chill :), you chill 🙂
We both chill 🙂
So you have it in your own hand – if you are blackpilled on how people treat others for things they can’t control, judge them by their deeds instead.
Mental Health & The Journey Within
DR: You left the looksmaxxing community for a while and only recently came back. What made you step away, and what brought you back?
Lars: Psychosis. Lost ironically the email and password, tried to comeback multiple times on alts but got rejected. Now i came back as Lars2 because new journey, new account, and hopefully more wisdom hahah ’;-P
DR: You talked about becoming less focused on getting attention and validation. How did that shift happen for you?
Lars: My ego got finally put in check after my psychosis. I was constantly bagging for attention – why? Because validation is cheap dopamine that leads to nothing. At my lightest i was 64KG/141LBS.
Highest 2024 winter: 111kg hahah boingoinggg.
DR: What’s your relationship with self-improvement like now? Are you still doing the same routines or has it changed?
Lars: It’s full time back, we baaaaackkkk! Drinking Raw Kefir daily that really chilled my gut out. Got my thyroid meds in check (thyroid is important to lose weight, but watch out for Hyper/Hypo-thyroidism!!) and walking 15k steps. Also good for mental health to go outside for at least 30 minutes without phone, just living in the here and now :))

Advice & Reflection
DR: What advice would you give to someone just starting their own transformation journey?
Lars: Enjoy the journey, love yourself, take progression pics. I also did not take alot when i was not satisfied with my body, but at least some so i see the progression – the small steps are big steps in the end.
DR: Where can people find you if they want to follow what you’re up to now?
Lars: Not yet, i only post on the forums for now. So if you want to ask me, join here or on org.
I love to help out and learn from others 🙂
